The most luxurious swimming pool in Paris uses LED lighting from WaterVision

Piscine Molitor in Paris, the famous swimming pool where the bikini was first introduced, has been reopened after 25 years. The Accor hotel group wants it to once again become one the most exclusive locations in Paris. WaterVision provided the LED underwater lighting in both the summer and the winter pools.

After a renovation lasting two years, the doors of the legendary swimming pool are again open, bearing the name of a 5-star hotel which is part of Accor's M Gallery Group.

Energy-efficient underwater LED technology

Energy-saving LED technology was used with the aid of WaterVision LED underwater lighting in both the summer and winter pools. The 33-metre long winter pool is lit under water by 14 WV19 LED underwater floodlights in the lighting colour of Bright White, which have been placed behind glass windows in the pool walls. The summer pool is 46 metres long and is lit by 16 WV15 ColorWave Gold LED underwater floodlights which can provide spectacular colour changes in order to transform the swimming pool with a colourful ambiance.

The Molitor swimming pool was opened in 1929 by Olympic swimming champions Johnny Weissmuller and Aileen Riggin Soule. It remained famous for a long time because of its Art Deco interior as well as for being the site of the introduction of the first bikini, after the Second World War. After its closure in 1989, the building was included in the list of historical monuments. However, the dilapidated building attracted many graffiti artists.

The beautiful, bright white lighting colour of the LED underwater lighting contributes to the allure which the complex wants to convey. Additionally, the RGBW colour changes in the exterior pool create a magical atmosphere, says Gregory Turpault, WaterVision's representative in France.
